Description: We need a report (or reports) which discuss a number of things relating to how pharmacists buy medical and pharmaceutical products, with each country dealt with seperatly (not the UK – we know about that). Do they buy from price lists, web sites (which ones), direct links with the wholesaler, telephone sales or something else? It needs to discuss how many wholesalers there are in each country, which of them supply all products (full line) and which only a few products (short line). The names and addresses of these wholesalers would also help. It would also be helpful to know if buying groups are used by pharmacies to reduce the prices of the products they buy. Also how does reimbursement work in each country, is there a single reimbursement price set by government, or many different reimbursement prices set by insurance companies (web links would also be helpful). A further section should deal with the discounts offered to pharmacies, are these a standard percentage off the full price or do they vary (and how and why the very). Also how are pharmacies told about these discounts, and are they consistent for generics or imports or other products, and does the government set discount rates in any way. Also what persentage of pharmaies are independent, and what persentage are owned by larger groups. Are any state owned, which groups are big and which small and how many pharmacies each group has.
